Four of us drove up from Oakville and we met Case at Hepworth. We proceeded to the Cape Chin South Road at 98.1 km and drove back to the start of our hike at the end of the Richmond Access Trail on Forty Hills Road. We then hiked in to km 86.2 on the main trail.

The trail continues to the scarp edge where it turns left and climbs up to the White Bluff

A beautiful view from the White Bluff across Whippoorwill Bay to Lion's Head Point

Beautiful carpets of moss.

Looking along beach toward Cape Chin

Andy misses the shot of a lifetime !

A recent/ rock slide

After about five hours of magnificent hiking .... the car !   We drove back to the Forty Hills parking lot to pick up the other cars. I had missed hiking the previous section so it was suggested I hike into Loin's Head and pick up about 6 km on the previous leg. Helgy  drew the short straw and 'volunteered' to join me. (Thanks Helgy)

We hiked along the shore road with a beautiful view of the 'Lion's Head'

We checked into our motel, a view from our rooms, and then had our evening meal on the outside porch of Rachel's Bakery.

Peninsula Km 98.1 to Km 114.4 - 22 September, 2015

Section and Distance: from the Cape Chin South Road to Dyers Bay Road

Weather: Warm andsunny, great hiking weather

Actual distance;

Hikers; Case, Andy, Chrisine, Helgy and our Leader Steve
We had intended to get an early start on Tuesday morning but we were not able to get breakfast in Lion's Head before 8 am. We left Rachel's about 9 and drove to the Community Parking Lot on Dyer's Bay Road. We left two cars there and drove to back to the start where the Trail crosses the Cape Chin South Road at 98.1 km.

We climbed to the top of the escarpment and encountered several excellent lookouts over Georgian Bay. .

At the tip of Cape Chin the trail turned inland where we encountered a beaver pond

We crossed several pastures and reached the Cape Chin North Road. We walked about 600 m and turned into the woods where we stopped for Elevensies.

We came out to the escarpment edgewhere there was a spectacular vista of Dyer's Bay to the north and we stopped here for lunch.

The trail heads down hill and in short orfer we are going uphill  ...... again!

The Michiganers Arch
From the Michiganers Arch we folowed the trail north to Dyer's Bay Road and our cars.
