Caledon - Willoughby Rd (16.0km) to Innis Lake Rd. (31.6km) - April 25th, 2019

Ten of us hiked 15.6 km from Willoughby Rd. to Innis lake Rd. on a beautiful sunny day.

Our hikers included Eric, Annette (newly back from the Amalfi Coast), Rob, Marleen, Nancy, Isaac, Ron, Sandra, Stefan, and Steve our photographer.

Off we went through an old farm.

We entered the tunnel under Highway #10

We crossed a field of Milkweed.

Today's hike had a lot of road walking but for the most part it had little traffic.

A moment earlier there was the largest Mallard Duck I've ever seen standing on the banks of this pond.

We crossed another farm.

Spring flowers were coming up as well as...
Spring garter snakes.

A fungi collection for Ron.

We make the turn onto scenic Airport Road.  Not much further now.
The cars!

Congratulations to Marleen and Nancy who completed the Caledon Section with this hike!

Caledon - Forks of the Credit - 2.7km to 16.0km - April 18th, 2019

We started from the end of Chinguacousy Rd and hiked 13.3 km to Willoughby Rd.

The day was overcast and although chilly at the start soon warmed up.  Our hikers included our newest hiker Ron2, along with Isaac, Mike, Fran, Ron1, David and the substitute photographer Steve.

Off we went down the first hill which led into the first climb.

The Trail followed a road allowance for much of this part of the trail so was fairly straight until it wasn't.

The Trail was reasonably dry considering the season but there were a few large standing water areas.

We begin the descent of the Devil's Pulpit.

We continue the descent which was made tricky by ice on the Trail.  Who would have thought, Mike in shorts and we encounter ice.

Our Bridge picture where the group tried to not obstruct the view of the beautiful Forks of the Credit

We had Elevensies on the banks of the Credit River.

Back on the Trail after a long climb up the Esacarpment.

A view across the valley where the Caledon Ski Hill is still open.

The Trail is cut into the side of a steep slope.

The final push for the cars!
Homeward bound.
