Iroquoia # 3- Felker's Falls (23.2 km) to Sam Lawrence Park (34.1 km) - Sept. 26th, 2019

The weather network was right!  The early morning rain stopped at 8:00ish and the temperature climbed to 23 and humid. Thanks to Case and Steve for the pix :-)
Thanks, Case.

Annette, Ron B, Nancy, Eric, Marleen, Arpi, Fran, and Ann (photographer)
We started at Felker's Falls and followed along the brow to Mount Albion Rd.

From there, we walked under the Red Hill Pkwy and eventually crossed Red Hill Creek.

We walked through a large clearing past King's Forest Golf Course.

Uli's stairs connecting the upper and lower parts of the city

Collecting garbage on the rail trail. We also passed 4 or 5 campsites:-(

Wishing for colder weather as we went up the Wentworth steps to the Sherman Access :-)

Some hikers got off the trail at the
Sam Lawrence Park Side Trail.                                                                                                                                                 This is the view they had from the park.

Others decided to continue on to St. Joe's and get picked up there!!!

Things we learned on this hike....
1) We can't park at Sam Lawrence Park anymore.
2) It is important to have everyone's cell #
3) If you're at the front, stop at any forks to make sure that everyone is taking the correct trail:-/

We passed a lush horse farm.
but were soon into the forest.

A lot of concentration as we crossed a stream.
The last of us cross successfully.

Catherine and Nancy spotted something on a Sumac.  Ron?
Back on the Trail with an easier crossing.
Elevensies!
Perhaps Coral Fungus, Ron?
The Trail follows alongside an abandoned field.
Back into the forest.
The descent after crossing Highway #9

Small pond before we begin the ascent out of the valley.
The Trail follows along another field of golden rods.
A tree with small red berries and vine with small black berries.
Yet another descent.
A view over the Humber Valley
The cars are on the other side of this farm but of course we have to go the long way around.
As we neared the cars we found one tree that had begin to turn colour.
