Toronto - Limehouse (21.5 km) to 27th Sideroad and 8th Line - Nov. 28th, 2019

It was a cool cloudy day as we started our hike with hikers Ron B., Ron J., Arpi, Eric, Annette, Brian, Karen, Case and Steve as photographer.  Unfortunately Case's camera was not charged and was left at home so the quality of today's photos would suffer.  We started in "Downtown" Limehouse (at least according to the sign  in the background) and headed across the bridge out of town.

After a short road walk we climbed up a small hill and entered a series of forest and fields with Drumlins being the predominant geographical feature of the area.

Following the switchbacks down the end of a Drumlin.

After another short road walk we climbed a stile and reentered the forest.

A happy group in our bridge picture.

Eric attempting a tricky crossing with Ron making sure the log doesn't turn while he crosses.

The boardwalks were wet and slippery.

The final few steps before the cars come into view.

but as we cross the final stream, is that gold glinting in the bottom?  Maybe we will come back some other time and find out.

Caledon - 7th Line (42.2 km) to 4th Line EHS (53.9 km) - Nov. 21st, 2019

It was a cool cloudy day as Annette, Ron B., Catherine, Eric, Sandra, Arpi, Brian, and Steve set off on the 11.7 km hike.

The ground was snow covered but the trail had been broken.

The Trail is very hilly through this Section and the hills started right away.

After crossing 5th Sideroad the Trail heads back into the forest.

We stopped for a minute at a Sugarbush.

The Trail crosses Airport road offering views down into Hockley Valley.

We found some logs to sit on for Elevensies.

Arpi and Sandra had a hard time staying on their log as they kept sliding off.

Back on the Trail

Another long hill!

The woodpeckers have done a number on this tree.

The Trail passes through an area where a large number of trees have fallen.

Finally the cars come into view!  Congratulations to Arpi who completed the Caledon Section today!

Toronto - Speyside Pear Tree (11.4 km) to Kelso (0.0 km) - Nov. 14th, 2019

Light snow was falling as Eric, Ron J., Catherine, Madge, Kelly (a guest hiker), and Steve began this 12. 5 km hike from Peartree parking lot to the Kelso Conservation parking lot.

The trail had been hiked before us so there was not a lot of trail breaking to be done but the rocky nature of this stretch made the hiking slow.

Camera shy Ron runs to get out of the picture.

Three natural snowballs formed on a rock

Ron checking out the trail ahead.

The golf courses closed early this year.

Crossing the bridge by Dufferin Quarry

Ron found some bittersweet for Christmas decoration.

The descent to 6th Line

The view down 6th Line with Kelso ski hill in the background.

The bridge is looking like it needs repair with quite the sag in the middle.

The trail passes under the 401 on 5th Line.

The final stretch into Kelso.

We reach the cars with some Christmas decoration.
