Iroquoia: Guelph Line 82.3 km to Mount Nemo 91.7 km - February 27, 2020

 Today's hardy hikers: Arpi; Annette; Mike; Catherine; Ken; Marleen; Richard;
our fearless leader Steve; Eric; Brian and Case the photographer.

We start off across the fields, cloud soon break away to sunshine

The snow on the trees is spectacular.
We have about 4k of road walking ahead of us
Lovely farm scenes with the Escarpment in the background
And then the wind begins to blow ....

and then the wind stops ...

Then we turn north and walk directly into the wind ...
back in the bush the wind is just a distant memory
We start the climb up the Escarpment

 Some reach the ladder ...
While others are still struggling through the snow covered rocks

Mike assists in the ladder climb

At the top we are rewarded with a spectacular view

Fortunately there was a chain to hang on to.
"Come on Eric, we are almost at the car park."
Congratulations to Catherine for completing the
Iroquoia Section of the Bruce Trail

It was a clear cold day when Sandra, Eric, Brian, Marleen, Michael, Annette, Arpi,, Catherine and Steve the photographer began this 13.8 km hike.

Icers were necessary so Brian demonstrates that he has his on while enjoying a swing before we get started.

The view across Hamilton to where we are going to hike.

We start down Red Hill.

We head under the Red Hill Parkway

Our Bridge Picture over Red Hill Creek with up and downstream photos.

A water break after climbing out of the valley.

and back down into the valley.

Crossing the old ski hill.

Looking back across to Hamilton from where we came.

Elevensies before we went into the shadow of the Escarpment and the temperature seemed to drop 10 degrees.

The view over Hamilton towards the steel plants.

The view from the top of the Wentworth Street Steps.

My camera battery died at this point due to the cold so the last 4 km were undocumented.
