Toronto #3 - Limehouse 21.5 km to 8th Line 32.2 km - April 19th, 2018

We had intended to finish our hike at the intersection of 8th Line and Sideroad 27 but due to an unforeseen snowfall, we had to relocate the cars to the 8th Line Side Trail (only a few 100 metres down the hill but about 5 km of driving around to find it).

We began our hike in Limehouse with the obligatory bridge picture of our 14 eager hikers, Stefan, Ann, Sandra, Nancy, Marleen, Annette, David, Eric, Arpi, Catherine, Rob, John, Rhonda and Steve our cameraman for the day.  Yes that is snow and it is April 19th and not January 19th!

It quickly became obvious icers would be nice on this hike!

Some hikers needed a little more help with their icers than others.

Off though the bush and snow we went.  Luckily the snow was hard and so we did not have to break trail, at least I didn't have to at the back of the pack.

We zigzagged down the front of a drumlin.  Ask Marleen about drumlins, as she now knows more about drumlins than she ever wanted to know.

We crossed many streams that were all free flowing.

We crossed a farmers field where the wind decided to pickup and drop the temperature a few degrees.

We crossed a long series of boardwalks through a marshy area of the Trail.

Elevensies was enjoyed in record time (2.5 minutes according to our official timekeeper Stefan)

And off we went again.

A lot of downed trees from the winter storms required some detours.

Another couple of slippery bridges to cross but almost done.

The water was really flowing in Snow's Creek as we walked down 8th Line to our cars and home or maybe Timmy's first.
Congratulations to David, Marleen and Nancy who completed the Toronto Section today!
