Caledon Section - km 44.4 to km 61.6 - 30 September, 2014

Hikers: Andy, Christine, Helgy,  and Steve

Leaders:  Richard and Karen

Section and Distance:  Caledon Section - km 44.4 to km 61.6

Weather:  Cloudy, rainy and warm

Actual Distance hiked:  19.3 kms

We left the centre at 8:00 and parked a car at the Hockley Road Side Trail Parking Lot and drove back to the 7th Line Parking Lot to start the hike.

Starting the hike

We then passed the Hockley Valley Resort where we passed the ski facilities where we took a well deserved rest on the raised benches used by the skiers in the winter.  After the short rest, we proceeded past the golf course on a long descent over golf cart paths and up the other side of the valley.

By this time it had started to rain.  We then passed by more golf greens and hiked through a grassy field ending on 2nd Line.    We then hiked up 2nd Line to Hockley Valley Road to our car.

We drove back to the second car, stopped in at Tim Horton's for coffee and drove home.  We all agreed that this was our most challenging hike to date.
