Iroquois #2 - Felker's Falls 23.2 km to Lewis Road 11.1 km - March 22nd, 2018

We started at Felker's Falls park with hikers Ann, Ron, Rhonda, Michael, Catherine, Marleen, Sandra, John, Fran, Annette, Arpi, Steve, and Stephen who is our poor substitute photographer for the day.

After a quick stretch in the parking lot (with a yoga move demo by Ron), we started with a view of a frozen Felker's Falls and then off on our 12.1 km hike to Lewis Road.

It was a clear cold day for our hike with spectacular views over Stoney Creek and Lake Ontario beyond.

We soon began our descent of the Escarpment.

The BT passes under Centennial Parkway where some artists have decorated the underpass.

The obligatory bridge photo with all the hikers but no water.

The falls at Devil's Punch Bowl was largely frozen but still had a significant flow.

This is a spot the fungus picture!  A prize for the first one to tell me where it is.

The BT crosses the railway at New Mountain Road.  There is a tricky turn here that is easy to miss.

We were soon back into the forest.

We found some logs and had elevensies by Dewitt Road.  Less than 5 km to go!

And off  through the forest to finish the hike.

This section of the BT has many ups and downs.

Near the end of our hike we encountered patches of snow on the forest floor.

One final climb and then a descent to the cars parked below on Lewis Road.
