15, no wait, 14 of us started out on this 13.2 km hike with perfect winter hiking weather, cold enough to freeze the mud and not so cold to freeze our bodies. The group included, Steve, Rhonda, Isaac, Marleen, Brian, Eric, Ken, Arpi, Ron J., Christine, Carol, Jonathan S., Stefan, and Ann behind the camera. Welcome back to a few of our intrepid hikers that we hadn't seen for awhile being Christine and Stefan and welcome to a guest hiker being Jonathan.
Off we went with some of us more bundled up than others.
Frost was heavy this morning but no snow in the fields.
We passed some Alpacas that were testing out the temperature.
The first of many hills for the day.
We reached the top with some of us suffering more than others. This could be a long day.
A small stream to cross.
Some trees to step over.
and hills to descend.
Hiking alongside 15 Mile Creek in Rockway Conservation Area.
Our Bridge picture.
Upriver.
Downriver
A descent begins.
and the ascent follows.
and repeat.
Anyone want to try and go down the escarpment again?
Mini bridge.
Sixteen Mile Creek in Louth Conservation Area
Elevensies were delayed until almost noon because the Hike Leader promised picnic tables in Louth C.A. that had mysteriously disappeared.
Back on the Trail which follows the road through vineyards for about 1.5 km.
A few partially frozen streams along the way to our cars and the trip home via Timmies.
