After our brealfast at the Leeside Restaurant in Tobermory we dropped off a car at Cyprus Lake
and then headed down the Emmett Lake Road to the Halfway Dump Side Trail parking.

We follow the Halfway Dump Side Trail for 900 m to the Georgian Bay shoreline

where it emerges on a dolostone shelf
.

From The Storm Haven Overnight Rest Area we head along a logging road

Another boulder beach

Halfway Rock Point

Indian Head Cove

We visit the Grotto and after a strenuous climb down Steve explores the Grotto.
Then it dawns on him he has to find a way out ........
The green water is where the underwater cave connects with the lake.

We reach the boulder beach and turn on to the Marr Lake Side Trail
that takes us to the parking lot at Cypress Lake..

Marr Lake

On the shore of Cypress Lake we came across two red chairs that were immediately occupied
by Helgy and Christine. Apparently Parks Canada has located 'Red Chairs' in most parks
across Canada at stratigic scenic locations.

After retrieving our cars we headed down Highway 6 for the long dive back to Oakville.
(by way of Tim Horton's)

When we stepped out of our motel roombefore 7:00 am there was a lightrain but it had stopped by the time we finished breakfast. We had found out the Emmett Lake Road was cloased to construction but we were able to get a car into the Parking Lot on the HalfwayDump Side Trail. We then drove to the Natioal Park Gate on Crane Lake Road.

It had rained the night before and as we started out we came across this feild still shrouded in mist and the cedats dripping with water.

The ultimate 'Corduroy Road'  .... should have a sign 'Slippery when Wet' !

Should we ask him to join us /    Only if he promises to behave.

"Where do you think the rest of them went Andy ?"
"Maybe we were taking too many pictures and they got tired waiting ?"

We passed a renovated School House, SS #2 Dyers Bay and turned on to CranLake road where Andy spotted the little fellow in the pictures below. A Massasauga Rattler maybe ?.
