Dufferin Black Bank - 20 Sideroad (41.7 km) to Lavender Cemetery (56.2 km) - August 31st, 2017

Its was a sunny day as Fran, Ron Stefan and Steve started a 14.5 km hike to complete the Dufferin Section for Fran and Stefan.

The hike started with a steep incline up an abandoned road.

Despite looking like Cauliflower, Ron assures us it is not.

The trail soon climbs out of the forest and follows alongside farmers fields.

The Mountain Ash were full of berries.

As were the wild strawberries?

After crossing Centre Road, we soon descended back into the forest.

Some interesting species pointed out by Ron.

Stopping to admire the view across the valley through the trees.

More interesting plants.

The Black Bank River where we stopped for lunch.

and Steve made sure he wasn't lost.

Out of the valley and back to the fields again.

Some special fungus.

These were a rare fungi species that Ron had not seen recently and fortuitously, we were near some wild apple trees.

A few more Fungi

We are in the home stretch.
