Niagara - Glen Rd (53.7 km) to Kinsman Park (66.9 km) - Sept. 5th, 2019

Today's hike was 13.2 km from Glen Rd. to Kinsmen Park in Niagara under sunny but cool skies.  Perfect hiking weather.

Hikers included Steve, Marleen, Ron B., Arpi, Catherine and Ann acting as our photographer.

The Trail begins in the valley below Ball's Falls.

Someone had built an Inukshuk in the middle of the stream.

The long climb out of the Valley and the welcome bench at the top.

The Trail goes through Ball's Falls Conservation Area.

The grapes were close to being ready to pick.

Our bridge picture early in the hike.

We passed some free range chickens that were surrounded by raspberry bushes.

and a tractor in an orchard and a flower lined road.

After crossing Cherry Road, Lake Ontario came into view.

Queuing for a stile or is Queen Marleen speaking to her subjects?

Elevensies with a spectacular view of a vineyard.

Back on the Trail.

Our second Bridge picture.

More hills to climb.

but great views to see.

The view west to Grimsby.

An obstruction on the Trail.

The Trail crosses Quarry road.  2 km to go!

The Trail was somewhat overgrown in places.

An interesting boulder and some interesting photos for Ron J.

The hills aren't done yet!

But at last relief!
A little frozen yogurt hits the spot and then home to Oakville.

Nine of us came out on this lovely day...mid 20's with the sound of cannon fire all around us. Sounded like a re-enactment of the War of 1812.
