Toronto Section - Limehouse (21.5km) to Speyside (11.4km) - Nov. 30th, 2017

We had 4 new members join us for this 10.1 km hike from Limehouse to Speyside.  The weather was cool and threatening rain as we started off on our hike.

We were a group of ten including Rob, Ron, Karen, Marlene, Nancy, Annette, Eric, George and Stefan.  In the absence of Case, Steve did double duty as Leader and Photographer.  Don't worry Case, your job is not in jeopardy.

After inspecting the Powder house we soon hiked by the Limekiln.

and the remnants of a mill.

We soon came upon the Hole-in-the-Wall.

Eric waits for Rob to fit through the Hole.

Always light on his feet, Stefan skipped up the stairs.

We descended to 5th Line and then began the crossing of  a series of farmfields

as well as the mandatory stiles.

After leaving the farms, we were into a new growth forest.

This portion of the trail has some rocky areas that made footing treacherous.

The bleak bushes reinforce "Winter is Coming", for those Game of Thrones fans.

Steve confirms that we have almost completed the hike.

The rains began as we finished the hike which encouraged us to pack up quickly and head off home.

Caledon Hills from Finnerty SR & Innis Lake Rd 33.8 km to Hockley Heights Side Trail 53.0 km - Nov. 23, 2017

It was a cool cloudy day temp hovering around 0C with a
breeze out in the open, not an unpleasant day for hiking.
Small but intrepid group, Erik; Annette; Steve our leader, Ron and Case

The consensus was, a porcupine getting some variety in his diet.
 First of several stiles today

 The mandatory 'bridge' picture
Rather dramatic tree on tree collision.

 We arrive at Hwy #9

Read the sign Ron, the Trail goes to the left.

We hike along a lovely little pond......
Suddenly a large yacht appears out of nowhere .... a mirage ????

Not a good day for scenic pictures
Reminds me of an album cover I used to have ....

If a tree falls in the forest ......
We pass through a maple syrup bush
and along a rail fence ...
and across another stile at Airport Road.
Today's hike ends at Sally's Pinnacle
and we take the Hockley Heights Side Trail back to the car.

Dufferin Hi-Land; 30 Sideroad 13.3 km to BTC Parking Lot at 29.4 km - November 16, 2017

We encountered some light rain but eventually it stopped,
the temp was around 3C.
Today's hikers; Ann; Ron; Eric; our leader Steve; Annette; Fran; Case and
occupying the Peanut Gallery at the back, Karen and Stefan.
We start out with about 2 km of road walking.
We cross the Boyne River on four separate bridges
(I refused to take four 'bridge' pictures)

The lead group broke away from the peloton .... and ...
This is them returning to the Bruce Trail after taking a wrong turn.

Ron selected a couple of sherpas and they struck out for the summit of
Murphy's Pinnacle

 Lunch Break

The hike leader trying to convince our visually impaired photographer
that this was not white plastic debris.
Karen celebrating the completion of her first complete E2E
since acquiring her bionic hip.
One of the more interesting Bruce Trail  Sidetrails.
