Iroquoia - Felker's Falls (23.2 km) to Jolley Cut (34.1 km) - August 2nd, 2018

It was another warm day as we started a 10.9 km hike through Hamilton.

The kids today included Karen, Ann, Ron, Fran, Sandra, Marleen, Nancy, David, Richard, Rob, and John with Steve as the photographer.  David was very brave to stand under the class practical jokers Marleen and Nancy.

Felker's Falls still had some water flowing over despite the lack of rain.

We kept moving as the day promised to only get hotter.

Richard ensuring everyone made it under the Red Hill Valley Parkway safely.

The trail continues alongside Red Hill Creek within the forest until it crosses an abandoned ski hill.

The Trail did not go up these challenging stairs.  We were saving that for later when we were tired.

The day seemed to be getting very steamy.

Trail maintenance is clearly required in several spots on the trail.

A small patch of shade served as our elevensies stop.

Caledon - Innis Lake Road (31.6 km) to 7th Line Parking (42.2 km) - July 26th, 2018

It was another warm day as we began our 10.6 km hike in Caledon.

Hikers included Eric, Marleen, Nancy, David, Ann, Catherine, Fran, Rob, Ron and Stefan and Steve who were not in the picture.

After a brief piece of road walking we were soon into the forest.

Stefan demonstrates his fine sense of balance as we crossed a muddy section.

As usual, the trail had lots of hills, both up and down.

We finally exited the forest to cross some fields and entered a pine forest where we had elevensies.

After crossing Hwy#9 we descended into a valley and hiked past a small pond.

Another descent was followed by yet another ascent.

A fine coral fungus caught everyone's eye and caused us to stop and catch our breath, or maybe it was the km long ascent that we had just completed.

Rob and David completed some trail maintenance. 

One last break at a viewpoint, which included a view of the cars!  Home again we went.

Iroquoia - Felker's Falls (23.2 km) to Lewis Road (11.1 km) - July 19th, 2018

It was another warm day when 12 of us started off on a 12.1 km hike from Felker's Falls to Lewis Road.


The Hikers were Stefan, Karen, Ann, Fran, Catherine, David, Nancy, Rob, Marleen, Ron, John and Steve the photographer.


After brief view of Felker's Falls, we were off.



The descent of the escarpment soon began.


Where did all the shoes come from?


The vegetation was lush despite the lack of rain this summer.


The trail is mid slope along this portion of the BT with lots of ups and downs.



A portion of the group stopped for a well deserved elevensies.

We were all soon off again.

Ann attempted to hide from the photographer but chose the wrong side of the tree.


And the final descent to the cars begins!  Did someone say there is a bakery around here?
