It was a cloudy cool day when Fran, Ron, and Steve started a 23.5 km hike through the north east part of Beaver Valley. We combined the normal BV hikes 2 through 4 into 2 hikes to allow completion of the Beaver Valley Section this year.
The leaves had turned but the dull skies didn't help.
We crossed a stream.
But we were soon back to road walking.
We passed though a series of farmers fields.
The sumac was in full colour
and into the forest
with a carpet of fallen leaves.
Some interesting specimens for Ron
We encountered a porcupine along the trail.
We soon came to the Metcalfe Crevice Side Trail
We soon crossed Mill Creek and Ron found a new specimen.
A view across the valley to the Duncan Crevice Caves Reserve
Ron picking some Bittersweet for Christmas decorations.
A small waterfall
A farm in the valley
As we ended our hike we came across some wild turkeys who had luckily missed Thanksgiving.
