Sydenham - Lundy Lane (135.4km) to Cole's Side Road (152.2 km) - Oct. 5th, 2017

It was a perfect day for hiking with cooler temperatures and no rain in sight when Annette, Fran, Ron, Eric and Steve started off on a planned 16.8 km hike.  Unbeknownst to us, and apparently the 29th Edition of the BT guide, a recent addition to the trail added another 0.5km to the hike.

It wasn't long before Ron found some interesting berries just off the trail.

After a bit of road walking we were soon into an old farmers field which is part of a recent land purchase by the BT.

After a climb up the escarpment beautiful views awaited us.

Fungi samples for Ron.

Given the long drive and resulting late start, elevensies were taken early in the hike.

Some interesting berries and ferns.

The trail runs through an older growth forest.

A view back towards Owen Sound.

Some Chuga's according to Eric and Latin name to be confirmed by Ron.

An old split rail fence along the edge of the escarpment.

We all had to pose for a picture at this spot except Ron who found something else interesting.

Descending into a crevice.

It doesn't take Ron long to find something interesting.

And back out of the crevice.

The start of Colpoy's Bay.  The trees were just beginning to turn colour.

A final 2.5km of road walking and we are done for the day.  The Knight's Inn awaits us in Owen Sound.
