Beaver Valley - 3rd Line and Sideroad 25 (104.5 km) to Blantyre (119.9 km).

The final hike of our final three day session of the fall season took us from the corner of 3rd Line and Sideroad 25 in the Beaver Valley Section to Blantyre for a distance of 15.4 km.

Our group of hikers on this day was depleted by a few and included myself(ie), Ken, Ron B, Arpi, Barbara, Boyd, Brian, Sandra, Doug, and Muris. As you can see, we were prepared for a cool and rainy day as the forecast suggested 100% probability of showers all day.

A short stretch of road walking was a welcome way to warm up the legs...and arms...and lungs...

A slightly used tractor looking out forlornly from its (last?) resting place...

A quick peak of Webwood Falls and then a map consultation session to confirm that we were in fact, still on the Bruce Trail...

Was it just in our minds, or were the brooding clouds, much like our step, beginning to lighten?..

As we progressed through the fields, patches of blue sky  began to emerge...

The more we stopped to regroup and chat, the nicer it became...

Brian rounds the corner in full on "catch up" mode...

We crossed Grey Rd 40 and ventured into the forest...

It had well indeed turned into a glorious fall day...the hiking gods were shining down upon us...

Always make time to stop and enjoy nature in all its forms...

We traversed a busy road and determined that Elevensies was in our future...

Back on the Trail with purpose...

The day just kept getting nicer and nicer...with some awesome views...

A memorial site honours several members of the same family...

We crossed Hwy 7 and headed to the home stretch...

This stream was flowing well after the earlier rain...

A former giant that acted as a blaze tree for many years...thank you for your service...

Boyd, evidently confusing surnames with given names, tries to lay claim to this historic farmland...

A final bridge picture to cap off a fantastic three days of hiking, celebrations, and companionship!

Back at the parking lot and the day is done (with evidence of Barbara's earlier narrow escape in her car from the clutches of the muddy ground)

The End
