Caledon - Innis Lake Rd (35.5 km) to Willoughby Rd (16.0 km) - Sept. 30th, 2021

We started at Innis Lake Rd and hiked 15.5 km west to Willoughby Rd.  It was a cool dry day perfect for hiking.

Eleven hikers began the hike with Ken, Boyd, Steve, Arpi, Brian, Marleen, Barbara, Sandra, Palma, Doug, and Catherine all present.  Some of us wore orange for Reconciliation day.

The Trail heads into the forest with a few small hills to warm up on.

Regrouping before we started on 5 km of road walking including a stretch on busy Airport Road.

Back on the less busy Escarpment Sideroad.

Heading back into the forest.

Some interesting fungi.

Trail passes a field of cattle corn ready for harvest.

A pretty horse farm with friendly horses.

Catherine sharing her apple.

Another pause to regroup.

and shortly thereafter Elevensies.

A silo converted into an apartment.

The Toronto skyline to the left Mississauga to the right.

Marleen consults with a man cutting the lawns at one of the many horse farms.

Heading back into the forest and fields.

Doug admiring the view and Devil's Paintbrush Golf Course.

Waiting to cross under Hwy #10.

Arpi and Barbara rushing to enter the forest again.

Brian examining an old windmill.

At Willoughby Rd with the hike complete, we met some Bruce Trail Volunteers that were laying out a new route for the Main Trail as some land had been recently acquired.

Congratulations to Brian who had completed his Caledon Section with this hike.

Boyd, Doug and Ken headed off for an additional 1.5 km hike to McLaren Rd as they needed to complete this segment from an earlier hike.
