Sydenham - St. Vincent-Sydenham Townline (44.2 km) to 2nd Concession North (60.9 km) --October 20th, 2021
Our hike on this special day was from the St. Vincent --Sydenham Townline just north of Hwy 26 to 2nd Concession North and Side Road 22 for a 16.8 km distance...a distance that represented the last remaining steps that Marleen and Nancy would need to take to conquer and complete the almost 900 km of the Bruce Trail...
Our enthusiastic group of hikers on this perfect fall day (including some special attendees who joined us for this momentous occasion) were Ann, Brian, Muris, Helgy, Steve, Nancy, Karen (who had just the day before completed the Bruce Trail for her 3rd time!), Arpi, Doug, Marleen, Barbara, Sandra, Ron B, Boyd, and Ken (behind the camera)...Nancy and Marleen are showing us how many hikes they have left to finish, (or just telling me I'm #1... I'm not sure)...
It was really only about these two special friends on this day...
The sun rises to warm us as we set off in good spirits...
We soon turned off the road into a muddy field and got down to the business of doing what hikers do...
Some of us knew exactly what pace was appropriate when you're enjoying the outdoors...

Finally...an Elevensies break and a chance to refuel for the home stretch...
And back on the trail...
Finally we emerge from the Bayview Escarpment Nature Reserve and see the road ahead...
The anticipation grows with every step...
