Sydenham - Bognor Marsh (29.4 km) to St, Vincent/Sydenham Townline (45.0 km) - Oct. 5th, 2021

Today we hiked 15.6 km from Bognor Marsh along the escarpment to the Townline.

There were eleven hikers including Ken (photographer), Doug, Steve, Nancy, Marleen, Barbara, Boyd, Brian, Arpi, Mauris, and Sandra.  It was a cloudy and cool day ideal for hiking.

The trees on the escarpment were spectacular as we started across the marsh.

The floating bridge made for an interesting crossing but we all made it across.

Doug, Marleen and Brian from the lookout tower.

We came across a very large paw print.

Doug cleaning and checking out the waterproofness of his new boots.

Our bridge picture.

Climbing the escarpment.

Elevensies!

The view over the valley below.

One of many pauses needed today as the hiking was very technical.

Some fungus for Ron J.

The Trail heads down and up the escarpment several times over the course of the hike adding to the challenge.

Hiking in a crevice on a ST.

The Trail goes through the village of Woodford.

Back into the forest for the last 2.5 km.

The Trail passes an old homestead.

Never a good sign when they are warning about narrow crevices and providing a by-pass.

Not so bad so far.
Tighter!

Emerging at the other end.

Finally the cars appear after a 6 hour hike over a challenging hike.
