Peninsula - Park Rd. (35.0 km) to Jackson's Cove Rd. (51.2 km) - June 28th, 2019

Today's hike was 16.2 km over fairly difficult terrain with threatening weather for a change.  Fran continued as leader and photographer with Annette joining today's hike along with Ron B., David, and Ron J. who was completing his E2E on this hike!

The hike begins with a steep ascent though boulders and ultimately a staircase to the top of the escarpment.

A spectacular view from the top of the escarpment.

Ron found some interesting plants whose names you will have to get from Ron.

After a 7 km hike around Sydney Bay Bluff, the Trail descends the escarpment.

The obligatory Bridge picture.

The Trail passes through the village of Hope Bay where Ron J. completes his E2E!

Meanwhile, Stefan was completing his E2E in Sydenham with a downpour to try and dampen our spirits!

Lunch in Hope Bay beside the water.

and flowers.

After passing through the village, the Trail rises steeply to the top of the escarpment and passes some glacial potholes.

Some interesting plant life before the hike is done.

The hike ended with a very challenging final kilometer but all survived.
Congratulations to Ron J. for completing your E2E.  It is always a pleasure to have you along as you make every hike interesting with your expansive knowledge and willingness to share with us all.
